Every wedding photographer or cinematographer started shooting weddings for different reasons. Knowing this reason is critical when selecting your photographer or cinematographer! It determines why a visual artist serves wedding clients—and their why determines how much of themselves they invest in your wedding, how hard they will work to get the best images, and how dedicated they are to making your wedding amazing.

Knox Wedding Creative was founded because of the passion of our lead photographer / cinematographer, Ben, and a very personal experience of his. Ben’s maternal grandparents, “Mawmaw” and “Pawpaw,” were the best grandparents a kid could wish for—always exploring new places or crafting fun Thanksgiving desserts together. But both of them passed away within seven months of each other when he was in middle school, and he never got the opportunity to develop an adult relationship with them—especially hearing stories about how they met and fell in love. His mom, aunts, and uncles did not know how their family began either—so with very few photographs and even fewer details, their love story was lost with them.

This disappointing ending drove Ben to help other couples start their families with the family heirlooms that he wishes his grandparents had done for his family. Now, when we photograph a couple or produce a Love Story Film, we want to capture and display these precious memories through the best methods available—not just for you and your future spouse, but because of the immense value those photographs or movies will have to the next three generations of your family.
